If you have spent any recent winters in the DC metro area then you know we do not get a lot of snow. Last year we had only a dusting, but apparently this winter is different. The snow started falling yesterday around noon and hasn't stopped. This picture was taken around midnight last night when the snow fall was around 15" (about halfway up the fence in our front yard.) This morning we woke up and the fence is nearly covered, we're over 24" now and it's still coming down. More pictures to come.
I plan on enjoying the overwhelming amount of snow with my family and getting in lots of reading. Currently I am reading Emma by Jane Austen, The Master's Violin by Myrtle Reed and Magic for Marigold by L. M. Montgomery. It's very possible I'll be able to finish one or two of these as it's very unlikely we'll be going anywhere any time soon.

WOW! That's amazing! I've been watching the news and wondering about you and the others we know in the area.
Yup - sounds like perfect weather conditions for spending time with family and indoors being cozy! And at least it's a weekend, right?
I can't wait to see more pictures! My husband has a meeting on Monday with some people from DC, and they're not sure if they're going to be able to get fly out of the city to make it to the meeting because of the snow.
