I recently read the following statistic posted in a email newsletter from Shelfari.com:
In 2007 40% of people in the U.S. read one book or less.
Hmm... I guess that doesn't include me. I haven't counted, but I know I read at least 30 books last year. How many have you read? Do you have any set goals?

Isn't that statistic just amazing?! It's hard to fathom.
No goals, but I do check out books from the library five and six at a time. I know of one blogger who's set a goal of 200 books: http://www.200books.com/
