This challenge will run here at A Library is a Hospital for the Mind from October 1 through October 31 and will include book reviews, trivia posts, and give-aways!
Here are the "rules" to participate:
1. Select which Lovelace book (or books) you wish to read during the coming month.
2. Write a post announcing your plans to participate in the challenge. It can be as simple as linking to this post and stating you are going to participate, or you can include your reading list, or any sort of those you have about this reading challenge, the author or the delightful books she penned. Then sign up here by linking your name and blog to the challenge (see Mr. Linky below).
3. If you don't have a blog, but you do use Twitter be sure to 1) Follow this blog (@LibraryHospital) and then re-tweet this post before signing up for the challenge.
4. Email me if you would like to post the MHLRC button on your blog or website. (libraryhospitalblog AT gmail DOT com).
5. Return throughout the month to learn more about the opportunities to win copies of the Betsy-Tacy and Deep Valley series thanks to the generosity of HarperCollins Publishers who have offered to mail complimentary copies to the winning participants in this challenge. The other give-aways will include Betsy-Tacy other Maud Hart Lovelace related gifts. Check back each Sunday during the month of October to see what is being given-away and how to enter for a chance to win.
5. Visit around the blogs of other MHLRC participants. It's a great opportunity to get to know fellow bibliophiles and find out what books they love.
6. Come back on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 and link up your final Maud Hart Lovelace related posts/reviews or reading challenge wrap-up.
Have fun!

Sarah,
I clicked on the Mr. Linky box and entered my information, but it asked me if I was participating in something called "Envisioning Beauty," instead of mentioning the MHL challenge. Just wondered if maybe there was a glitch somewhere. Thanks.

JNCL, it's because I'm using the "FREE" version of Mr. Linky. I don't use Mr. Linky enough to justify a paid subscription, which is the only way you get to name your own linky-format boxes. If you use the free version you select from pre-named boxes, but that doesn't affect anything with the challenge -- you're still signing up for this challenge as this box is linked to my blog/email.
I am really excited for this! I will come back with my link as soon as I get my post up.

(Mr. Linky isn't showing the other links right now.)
I am excited...AND have a giveaway of the four final (two volumes) books of the Betsy-Tacy series! :)
The year went by so fast. I am so excited to start. I only have Winona's Pony Cart and Carney's House Party left to read. Thank you for hosting this and coming up with the idea or I might never have discovered this great author. :)
Still playing catch up here! =D Just in case Mr. Linky blows a gasket...

Looking forward to re-reading at least one book!
Thank you for hosting. You always make this fun.
I'm not sure I will have time to participate this time around, but I'll see if I can squeeze a book in...
I signed up! Here is the link again just in case: http://justaudreyblog.blogspot.com/2011/10/its-time-this-years-maud-hart-lovelace.html
I'll be reading the Betsy-Tacy high school books during October, because I love reading about the Halloween season back then!
Thanks for hosting this again Sarah! I'll be reading MHL for sure this month, plus reading the newest book in Heather Vogel Frederick's Mother Daughter Book Club series - in this book the mother daughter book club will read Betsy in Spite of Herself!!
Thanks for hosting this reading challenge again! I found out about the challenge late last year, so I'm glad to be joining in at the "right time" this year. Here's my link: http://nancypiccione.blogspot.com/2011/10/to-do-with-book-participate-in-maud.html
So glad to have an "excuse" to read more Maud Hart Lovelace!
So pleased you're hosting this again; I'm aiming to read my next two in October. (My post is here.)
I've been looking forward to this all year! Thank you for hosting the challenge again!

Thanks to you all for joining in! It's much more fun to have lots of fellow-MHL fans participating. :)
So glad you're hosting this again ... we'll be reading Betsy and the Great World in early spring in a girls' book club, so any suggestions for activities to do with the girls ... especially crafts ... would be greatly appreciated!
Just joined and can't wait to reread one of my favorites - Emily of Deep Valley!
