It's nearly Christmas and while for many of us there is still much to do before next Thursday, it is still a good time to start looking for a few minutes to stop, relax, and maybe enjoy a few minutes of peace and quiet and a good book.
Since it's the holiday season why not pick up a Christmas themed story? But you may wonder besides the obvious A Christmas Carol what else is out there?
According to Barnes & Noble, if you run a search on their website on just the word "Christmas," there are over 20,000 results. But to save you time, here is a short list I made. If you know of any others that should be added, please leave a comment and I'll add to the list.
** A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
** The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey by Susan Wojciechowski (I've not read it, but heard it was excellent.)
** The Gift of the Magi by O. Henry
** The Story of the Other Wise Man by Henry Van Dyke
** The First Christmas Tree: Other Stories by Henry Van Dyke
** Christmas at Fairacre by Miss Read
** The Christmas Story ~ The Holy Bible (The Gospels: Matthew and Luke)
Merry Christmas and happy reading!

And for the more bloodthirsty of us out there, Jane Haddam has some Christmas (A Stillness in Bethlehem and Not a Creature was Stirring)and Hannukkah (Festival of Deaths) mysteries with her detective Gregor Demarkian. Great reads, all three.
Perfect! Thanks very much for the suggestions Sarah!
Happy Christmas!
