Tuesday Teasers

This is another cool idea that I found over at GodWriterBlog by Veronika, who in turn found it at another book lover blog.

Here's how it works:

1. Grab your current read.
2. Let the book fall open to a random page.
3. List the book Title and author.
4. Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.

My Current reads consist of two books. The controversial, Sister Carrie and the long-loved classic children's story, The Wind in the Willows. Thus I am going to post two teasers on this Tuesday.

Sister Carrie by Theodore Dreiser (Page 286)

"The manager was no fool to be led blindly away by such an errant proposition as this, but his situation was peculiar. Wine was in his veins. It had crept up into his head and given him a warm view of the situation. It also coloured the possibilities of ten thousand for him. He could see great opportunities with that."

The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Graham (Page 196)

"Toad went a little faster; then faster still, and faster. He heard the gentlemen call out warningly, 'Be careful, washerwoman!' And this annoyed him, and he began to lose his head."

Want to play along? Let me know what your Tuesday Teasers are by leaving a comment that links to your own post in your blog or leave if you don't have a blog, leave the teaser as a comment.
